About JAVA PURA
JAVA PURA is a Houston based coffee roaster dedicated to bringing our clients the best coffees from around the world. Formed in 2008 as a partnership between Richard T. Colt and Fielding L. Cocke, JAVA PURA's mission is to provide our city, our friends and our clients with the freshest, locally roasted coffee possible. We select only the top class of green bean coffees from the premier growing regions around the world and roasts them in our small batch drum roaster. Many of our coffees are Fair Trade, organic and in some cases come directly to JAVA PURA from limited production farms for sole use by JAVA PURA. Our beans are then made available within 24 hours of roasting, ensuring the best coffee experience possible for our customers.
Richard T. Colt - Born in Houston, Richard is not new to the Houston coffee scene. Starting in 1992 with a number of coffee kiosks located Downtown, University of Houston, the Galleria and Saks Pavillion, Richard formed Texas Java Company and has provided coffee catering to Houston ever since. Understanding that coffee excellence could be expanded by roasting his own coffee, Richard pitched the concept to his high school friend, Fielding L. Cocke and Java Pura was formed.
Fielding L. Cocke - Also a native Houstonian, and long-time coffee aficionado, Fielding has often proclaimed that he was the first person at University of Texas to buy a Krups coffee maker in early 1973. A wine collector and taster, Fielding uses his talents to help the Master Roaster cup their samples. Both Richard and Fielding have a deep passion for their coffee and employ every means possible in bringing Houston the very finest coffee available.

Synesso Machines
We were in Seattle a while back doing a 'recon' of some of our favorite coffee shops when we noticed many were using a machine they felt was superior to all others. The machine as it turns out was a Synesso and to our taste made fantastic espresso. The baristas we talked to all loved the machine; its ease of use, its industrial art look, but most important to them was the perfect shots it consistently produced.
